The Top 10 Most Significant Happenings of 2008
Everyone knows I have problems remembering things/events/people (I can't even remember my own groupmate from POLY). Someone should present me an award for my attempt at trying to remember the 10 most significant events of 2008.
1. Welcoming the New Year w/o FGL
Apparently not such a good start to 2008. FGL went back to France during the LAST week of December and left me alone in sg for more than 2 months. I celebrate 07's X'mas w/o him and welcomed 08 w/o him. Thank god for my friends. You can't imagine how much I love my friends. I love them so much i would give up the last piece of chai tau kuey to them. =)
2. My Bday
I had my first taste of the legendary Bacardi 151, lighted up, during my bday this year. I still remember the taste till this very day. I take it upon my responsibility to make sure ahmah gets a taste of the drink during her bday this y ear.
3. Tattoo
2008 was the year where i finally had my tattoo done. One of the most accomplishing and satisfying acheivement, i would say. The 20 mins of pain made me $100 poorer. For something that's going to last FOREVER, i'd say its pretty damn worth it. HAHA
4. Results
I would never forget the 'emotions' that went through me when i saw my results. I have finally graduated. With a PA for Finance and HD for Business Ethics. All companies should be fighting to hire me. I am SUPER ETHICAL though i suck at Math. =)
5. Mary's Lamb
With the unlimited amount of free time on my hands after graduation, I did alot of redundant stuff. I found out that the nursery rhyme 'Mary had a Little Lamb' had 8 verses in total. All along I thought it had like 5 paragraphs. Turns out, there were 8.
6. Interviews
I lost count of the numbers of interviews I went in 2008. I think I went to more than 8 interviews. I thank my ancestors everyday for not letting me hit the 10 interviews mark. You would probably have seen me selling pots/pans at a supermarket otherwise.
7. Work
Somewhere in between me realising 'Mary had a Little Lamb' had 8 different verses and sending yet another 1000 resumes everyday, I got myself a job in an MNC.
8. German
Working has its benefits, besides having a 'hefty' amount of money cashing in at the end of each month, it widened my circle of friends, and led me to.. *ahem* German. Hmm.. Ok.. maybe the terms 'led me to..' is a bit too cheesy for some to handle. But its the best i can think of, so cut me some slack. German.. is the complete opposite of FGL. While FGL is stable, more mature, more homely, more available to me, the epitome to stability and good husband material, German is young, new, has a flair for sweet talking, likes to go missing in action, has an attitude, and has the ability to make me look like some stalker/psycho.
9. Breakup
Despite having the I-possess-alot-of-good-qualities-and-i'd-make-a-good-husband FGL as my bf, I managed to do the one stupid thing that a happily attached person could do; break up with the good guy, and throw myself at the bad guy. Jian right.. I know. But oh well, life goes on. I've moved on, and so have FGL. Things are good with Kevin, though the occasional MIA stunts he pulls still pisses me off like crazy. But women are known to be suckers when it comes to guys with attitudes. It just so happens that Kevin has an attitude, and is VERY hairy. VERY VERY hairy. I am able to close my eyes to all other factors.
10. Driving License
I ended 2008 by passing my driving test. One of the MOST accomplishing moments of my life.
And there you have it, the Top 10 Most significant events of 2008, at least to me.
Auf Wiedersehen~
